True Plug & Play: Online within minutes

To work for end customers, the gateway has to be as easy to use as possible: Plug in the power supply and connect to the home router. The gateway then becomes part of the home network, connects to the assets, installs updates over the air and triggers customer activation.

Ensure flawless asset pairing on-site

GreenCom’s extensive asset integration library ensures matching the assets in customer households and the ability to provide updates directly if necessary. The auto-discovery functionality performs a scan of the household, detects the relevant assets, uploads the applicable driver and starts retrieving data from the asset.

Local & offline optimisation rule engine included

What if the customer’s internet connection is lost for some time? GreenCom’s gateway offers the best of both worlds. A local rule engine allows it to react to energy flows almost instantly and ensures optimisation even during connectivity losses. Collected data during downtime gets stored and uploaded to the cloud later.

With a stable connection, the backend optimisation includes sophisticated AI forecasts and mathematical optimisation. Those two worlds seamlessly work together following various objectives like efficiency, and economic or ecologic footprint reduction.

A price point enabling business cases and customer adoption

For GreenCom, the gateway is an enabler. A means to an end. GreenCom therefore puts remarkable effort into sizing the gateway’s capabilities for the exact purpose. No oversizing or underperforming. Keep the cost where it should be. Also, GreenCom does not make a profit on its gateway, so it will be an at-cost position for customers.

Processing and storage power proven in a million homes

The GreenCom gateway is a proven Home Energy Management gateway already deployed in more than one million homes. With a 600 MHz Ti Sitara processor, 32 GB flash memory and 4GB DDR3 RAM, it contains enough processing power to support edge intelligence for use cases that require low latency and sufficient memory to buffer data for about 2 weeks in case the internet connection breaks down.

Nothing to worry about - security for each gateway

Gateway features and data must be safe under all circumstances. To ensure this, GreenCom runs external security audits on a regular basis resulting in a hardened operating system. Automated security testing based on CIS benchmark recommendations adds another layer of valuable input. 

Additionally, all communication is end-to-end encrypted and each gateway runs on its own credentials. GreenCom monitors traffic and abnormal behaviour.
