GreenCom Networks, one of the world’s leaders in distributed and digital energy, was today named a 2020 Global Cleantech 100 Company. The 11th edition of Cleantech 100, the respected annual guide to sustainable innovation, features companies best positioned to contribute to a digitised, de-carbonised and resource-efficient industrial future. The list combines Cleantech Group’s data with the findings of a global 80-member expert panel of leading investors and executives.
Christian Feisst, CEO of GreenCom Networks, said: “It is a great honour to be a Cleantech 100 company as Cleantech 100 is one of the world’s most influential surveys of sustainable innovation. We are convinced that GreenCom’s energy IoT platform connecting decentralised devices as well as managing, visualising and optimising energy flows at a household, district and community level will be one of the main ingredients in the emerging renewable energy economy. Our platform helps maximise the use of renewables in the overall mix, while saving energy, reducing electricity bills and helping to stabilise the grid. This solution offers benefits to end customers, utilities and DSOs as well as TSOs – and we are delighted Cleantech 100 has recognised the potential.”
The award was preceded in early January by Navigant Research flagging up GreenCom as one of the two leading energy as a service (EaaS) market players. In the “Navigant Research Leaderboard: Residential Energy as a Service Platforms”, Navigant claimed that GreenCom has differentiated itself through “exceptional product performance, strong vendor partnerships, and a sustainable business model.”
Richard Youngman, CEO, Cleantech Group, said: “It feels right that our first list of the future-defining 2020s, should see a continued strengthening in the representation of truly impactful and necessary innovations to transform our diets, to enable a more renewable-heavy energy system, and to capture and utilise the vast levels of CO2 we have been freely emitting for decades. Also included in our 2020 list are some big and critical shots at solving global problems – from proving out fusion and next-gen batteries to zero carbon aviation.”
